Carver in art class at Carver won honorable mention Carver painted all his life Simpson College in 1892 at the Chicago Exposition in 1893
Carver painted landscapes,plants and flowers. He produced dyes from peanut shells.
Susan Carver taught, the young boy, Carver, how to knit crochet and embroider. He worked in the house helping her since he was sickly as a child.
