Global Village Shops Concept

Independently owned and operated shops which may choose to use the name Global Village Shop or an independent name, but display the certification seal of Global Village Concepts.

Shops will sell goods made by women throughout the world; shops owned by women. Shop suppliers are paid a fair price for goods, services, and like cooperatives share in profits. Producers of goods can own Global Village shops.

All potential owners must agree to adhere to Global Village principles in order to qualify to use the certification seal. Failure to do so will result in lost of certification and privileges to use the seal.

An application and approval process which includes an initial fee will be charged to cover the review process, certification seal and future services for the year. Once approved the shop will be considered certified and eligible to receive services.

An annual renewal process and fee will be required. A review of business practices will be conducted to ensure that they are consistent with Global Village Concepts principles.

All goods sold at Shops certified by Global Village Concepts must display the Global Village certification seal. It is encouraged that goods sold also have authenticity tags. The tags may provide cultural information as appropriate, and include the signature of the producer or artist.

Each shop operates independently, and the certification does not assume any financial liability. Shops may interact directly with each other for exchange of ideas, business, resources and information; or through opportunities provided by Global Village. Global Village will maintain a database and inventory of goods available for purchase. Upon request facilitate contacts with trustworthy suppliers, facilitate contract arrangements, and other business services.

Shops may be virtual (internet based, out of home, mail order businesses or store locations.
